Meta tags

Meta tags are text elements that describe a page's content; they only appear in the source code of a page, not on the actual page. Meta tags are simply tiny content descriptors that assist in describing to search engines the source material of a web page(wordsteam.com, Meta tags 2022).

Title Tags: We tell Google and users of search engines what the title of the page content is by using the title tag. This tag should not be confused with heading 1, which serves as the text's primary title. Users can only see the title meta tag on search results pages; it is hidden on the actual page. For best practices to write title tags, 

  • Use the core keyword or words to succinctly summarise the page's main subject.
  • Create intriguing, innovative, and appealing headlines to grab readers' interest and raise the page's CTR in the SERPs.
  • Be accurate and descriptive based on the content of the page.
  • Avoid overusing or repeating keywords.
  • Write a text of no more than 60 characters (maximum of 580 pixels)
Meta-description Tags: A quick description of the page can be added using the meta-description element, and it will appear in the search results. Despite the fact that Google does not always provide the content that the creator has suggested, there are situations when it can be produced automatically through the page's content if Google feels that the content the user has made is not "quality" enough or is unrelated to the user's query. Writing meta-description tags correctly:
  • Personalize your meta descriptions by summarising the page's content.
  • Naturally incorporating the keyword at the start of the sentence is preferable to overusing it.
  • Make them attractive and original.
  • Try to limit it to between 140 and 160 characters (maximum 920 pixels).
